Clio 182 vs Saxo VTS

Hey all, This isnt a whats faster blah blah blah.. its a bit of my experience

In the past i have had 2 saxo vts's.. both pretty nice and my last one i got it on the rollers at 145bhp

Anyways i picked up my 182 yesterday.. and being french and all i thought it was gonna feel just like my saxo

How wrong was i!!! The car feels so tight and in place!! Engine has a wicked note to it when you give it the beans and the power from 5k is insane...Gearbox so sooo smooth and the power so mega smooth

The the interior is plastic i know,But to me it doesnt feel plastic.. Because he has cruise control/air con/ remore audio stalk it just feels like a better built french car..the cabin feel is soo much better then my old focus let alone my old saxo!!. I dunno if its the same for anyone else.. but it just doesnt feel like a cheap/french hothatch :S.......

sold my VTS few months back now im buying a 172 lol and tbh i agree with all you have said. All the little things make a big difference imo that most people would take for granted

Agree with most of what you say - I went from a VTR to a 172 Cup. However, if you want smooth power, try a 330! The Clio engine is anything but smooth, imo.

Remember, the Saxo is quite old now, so it's going to feel loose and cheap compared to most cars. The Renault is a marked improvement over the old Citroens in overall feel, gearbox, etc.

yeah exactly.., the saxo was a 1.6 in a tin can.. the engine was pully but was not smooth acceleration...

The 182 is pretty solid imo.. and my engine is smooth :S but mine son 19k mileage

ride on mine is good.. its not harsh.but its not soft... on corners it handles very well

The more milkeage you rack up the the looser the engine will become my friend

i think when you compare them to the likes of the focus st etc you will find the build quality is much poorer. And there WILL be rattles and noises. Thats not what theyre about though

i was gonna buy a saxo but once i test drove it i fort i love my clio 2 much lol

If thats what you think of the 182 then you should try a 197 mate :approve: Its even better, more planted and handles better IMO
