Clio 182 vs Seat Ibiza Cupra

  Vectra SRi
We're now talking about the 2010 cupra!? WTF!?

Isn't that the 1.4 sc / tc lump?

So far we've discussed a 20vt, pd160 and now a f**king 1.4 automatic!?

I knew there was a reason I normally stayed out of these threads!

Bit unfair to compare 2010 cupra with the 182, that's where the 200 comes into play!

My old Ibiza Cupra completely standard after a custom Code Stage 1 map...

You decide, i have owned both and for me the 182 is quicker. And far less of a plasticy s**t box!

:( sorry...thought it was a public forum that was open for discussion, my bad ;) lol

Like all these type of threads, usually end up talking about different variations of the same make / models, 172/182/197/200, not to mention if its got cup packs or no cup packs...nothing wrong with a bit of discussion...difficult not to get sucked into these threads from time to time.

+1
Although I will add that I didn't have any issues more than keeping with a mk3 160bhp tdi FR effort in France. I was 2 up with 2 mountain bikes, 2 tents and all the other s**t for a few days camping.

DNP, the point is no one knows what version the OP is talking about!

Very much doubt this!

see daverealgoods post bellow. you can be wrong about anything ya like it doesnt bother me in the slightest.

i think what it comes down to is some people drive there car properly and most people on here have vaginas.

Which is quicker both stock. cheers

I love this thread, that word stock means standard off the factory floor picket line, and as usual we now have pictures of rolling road graphs that are so high they could take eyes out if you werent careful.

Jesus christ almighty.

the whole point of that post is that i have owned both! In standard trim the Ibiza is not a quick car at all, and even after being mapped, my 182 is still a quicker car.

Regardless what year the cupra is, what engine is has, standard vs standard the 182 will always win. I know I've had the pleasure of beating them all in my 172

When the timing was out on the 182 I raced my mates mapped cupra tdi with de-cat, filter etc. It was running 203bhp, he only caught me at 120 and came passed. This was with my timing out.

Gaz get off your high horse mate, a standard tdi won't beat the 182, there's a lot more chance top end of the cupra tdi pulling past.

I've also raced the new Ibiza cupra...forgot the name. Bono...something . Still beat it, not by loads but pulled 3 car lengths over half a mile. Still nice cars

I've always wanted a cupra tdi but after pulling past a standard tdi quite quickly I soon lost interest

The fact you have written all this bumf is enough to prove it is pointless trying to compare any of the cars. "I raced this Cupra and won" really means zero. Obviously, the Clio rules all in every situation and for all intents and purposes, the 156 hp Cupra will be a bit off the pace when compared to a Clio Super Sport. You can talk crap about the TDi all you want, it's the same response 99% of the time because it's a derv.

your a dick lol

LOL - that doesn't make sense but good one!

Sadly I'm not your usual 'Clio rules all type' so thanks for the stereotype but no infect you're wrong

Please, I have driven a standard cupra tdi with 30k miles on, I test drove it because I wanted to buy one for commuting, I've always liked them and wouldn't hear a bad word said about them because IMO they're one of the fastest hatch diesels on the market.

I'm simply stating that in a race on a straight road the 182 wins every single one standard for standard. It seems you can't accept this but then you have a tdi so I find you may be biased. I have no reason to lie and would happily prove the point to anyone

A mapped tdi is a different storey but still only slightly faster and that was against the trophy when the timing was out (I didnt know at the time)

My brother has had an ihi mk3 Ibiza, 340bhp developed by jabba.

I've also wanted an Ibiza for a long time but all my friends have had them and they all seem to fail on sensors etc
