Clio Buying guide - Performance Heroes from Evo mag.

A few of you were asking what number of EVO mag the clio mk 1 172 buying guide was in . Well EVO hav just brught out a special performance heroes (came out saturday) mag and it has the full buying guide in it for the Clio same one that was in EVO in 2006 Hope this helps some of you out that wanted the buying guide :)

Yes my friend same as the one in 2006 . 6 page with pics/ parts cost/ check points ie engine/ gearbox/ exhaust / and all that . Mag is £ 3.99 from WH Smiths only i think .

Top man for posting that!

It'll be extremely useful as I'll be looking for a ph1 172 very soon.

With that mag and CS I should be fully armed to getting a good deal.

Its a good 6 page buying guide that lists the problems and all the parts costs like oil filter etc Values and driving one today worth it for £ 3.99 id say .

Lol! I would love one but don't think I'd have enough cash if it went wrong. Turbo problems was the biggest worry, £600 for a replacement.

I know anything could do wrong on any car I get but the Clio works out cheaper on tyres, petrol etc. A 172 is the sensible (and just as fun) choice lol

What issue is this in? I had a quick look through a mates and cant find it???? Whats on the cover and what page is the story on????

Its a one off special made by EVO mag called performance heroes got lots of cars on the cover 306 gti 6 clio 197 VW golf mk2 gti RS focus . the Clio buying guide is on page 86 .

The original 172 buyers guide in EVO was in mag 089 (march 2006). A lot of the guide Ive incorparated into my guide in the guide section on the forum.

Shame its still got inaccuracies which weren't fixed since it was originally writtten, didn't check the prices but I'd expect they didn't bother checking them.

Can't find it either, WH Smiths told me to go to a bigger store, maybe its there.

Will be having a look in the big stores while I'm in London.

For everyone still looking, try your local borders, mine had loads!!!!!! My mate suggested them, I honestly didn’t know they did mags but turns out they do!!!!
Go check them out!!!!

I finally saw this mag last night, I was in WH Smiths at liverpool st station, they had it on a big rack on the other side to all of the carm mags etc:S I had a flick through & read of it, most of it is a complitaion of old evo mag tests etc.

As mentioned there is a fair bit of renault content in there :)

It is a good buy (I didn't get it though) It was only £3.99 too.
