Hi, I have a problem with my 172 cup (52) and would really appreciate some advice. My interior light will not switch off once the keys are removed from the ignition. This is causing issues setting the factory alarm (constant buzzing when alarm activated). If I leave the buzzing 30secs\1min, the alarm does successfully activate, but unfortunately the alarm is triggered within an hour (the neighbours love me)! I checked the alarm diagnostic light by the gearbox after an alarm trigger, and it indicates it was a door sensor that triggered the alarm (1 constant flash).
I have noticed that when the keys are in the ignition, the interior light turns off, the "doors open" symbol is NOT illuminated on the dash. I have tested the door sensors by opening the door (doors open warning light appears on the dash) and pressing the sensor in which removes the dash warning. I have also tried disconnecting the bonnet switch which does not help the alarm or interior light situation. The boot has been checked to ensure the boot light is turning off when shut. Will an open\faulty boot switch cause the interior light in the front of the car to illuminate? Finally, I should mention that whilst braking the "doors open" symbol occasionally lights up on the dashboard.
I really am running out of ideas and desperately want to avoid a trip to Renault. I would be most grateful for any assistance.
