Ok,
So have known for a while that one of the dampers on the back of my cup has been on it's last legs, but after 2 weeks of not driving the car i jumped in it this morning and very nearly crashed it at the first roundabout. The scary thing is that i was in a line of commuter-spec traffic dawdling along well below the car's true limits. The rear wheel went over a man hole cover and the rear of the car "skipped" and went really quite sideways.
Luckily i caught it no problems (all that time spent driving rear wheel drive cars has finally paid off!) but i'm just glad the missus wasn't driving it as it could have ended badly!
Anyway, got to work, stuck my head under the car and one of the dampers is absolutely covered in fluid - clearly blown to bits so the car basically has no damping at all.
What i need to know is the part number for the OEM dampers that it needs on the back (i'll replace the pair i think) or if anyone has any recommendations for good quality upgrades that will work with standard front dampers and are not too expensive!
Thanks in advance for your help - tried searching and couldn't find what i'm after. Also, sorry for the long post, had to get it off my chest!
