The engine is out of my phase 1 Clio 172 and i'm looking into losing the AC pump and fitting genuine Renault Cup parts. The question i have is that the Cup model is the phase 2 and uses the CB1 engine, the phase 1 engine i have uses the C0 engine. Does this make a difference? Does the phase 1 block have the same locating holes for the Cup alternator brackets as the phase 2? There's also 3 types of alternator that's used on the Cup.

Just want to make sure before ordering brackets, tensioner, bolts, belt and alternator

Yes it will all fit

Different alternators are different amp outputs. not massively important.

we use 7701499959 its listed for a Kangoo too

Thanks for the super quick reply Jay! That's brilliant news, been speaking to the parts guy at Renault to get part numbers and prices and it seems worthwhile to purchase it all new

You could save quite a bit of cash if you searched around breakers/scrap yards. The brackets are the same as a Mk1 Laguna 8valve. Id get a new alternator and belt tho

Aah right, i'll make some calls tomorrow then. Alternator new from Renault is £99 plus VAT but i should get 15% discount on that

Thanks again

Sorted, found a complete cup setup but apparently the PAS pipe is different between the cup and 172. Can anyone tell me which 1 I need please

You can just bend your standard PAS line slightly... and it will be fine :)

I'm liking that idea :D i've been reading some threads about the cost of new PAS lines from Renault, kerching.

I'm fitting a new cambelt this weekend while the engine is out, hopefully the Cup alternator parts will be with me by next Wednesday so i can get that on as well :)

Is the bracket off any 8v engine And how many brackets are there, plus par alternator n belt is that it

What the man above said ^ what Laguna engine do I need to look out for?
8valve laguna mk1 1.8l. Basicly the very first lagunas. With pas but no aircon. You need the top bracket that the alternator swings on and the lower one that the pas pump bolts to. You may need to buy the f4r cup spacific bolts from Renault tho as the F3 engine uses studs on the lower bracket iirc
