Clio Evo.....hum

  Lionel Richie
you know i rekon the evo engine will go in a clio (FWD) i was having a look at work earlier, just a thought for the crazy people out there ;)

Somebody has done this already...

A white MK1 rollin' with a body kit and chrome 17"s LOL

although I never saw the thing running....

  S4 Avant
only so much power you could put through a fwd though....

Technically, you could put as much power as you wanted through the front wheels, just depends what you want to do with it.

Cornering would be similar to the Clio TT I'd guess, with a large lump in the front and bucket loads of power.

i always thought if i had money to get an evo engine put in. ill keep dreaming then

  RS RIP
put it in the middle and figure out a 4WD somehow please.. this will never work. Silly dangerous

the white one was 4wd, was built by a friend of a friend in harlow, in the end, he could'nt stop the movement on the rear suspension, was going to space frame it, but had enough and took a plasma cutter to it. the running gear and engine are now in a mitsubishi colt. and it was never photoshoped, despite what cliosport experts said the time. ( see previous stated link).

im sure the white clievo is owned by someone round my way there is always a clio on the drive way looks like the same bodykit

Evo engine

Ponders.
What about gearboxes though? the front/rear diff is going to cause a few problems to start with surely?
The tuning parts are so varied. You really can have whatever power you want, but i still think the 20v is slightly better suited.

edit: Anyone know what the blocks are made out of? They any lighter?

i know if it any help a maqin problem he had was the passenger side wheel catching on the gearbox, i believe this was sorted with mahoooosive spacers.

I smell chassis leg choppin.
Not interested :rasp:

Edit: could he not have fitted wheels smaller than those moons that are on it?

iron block fella, just like the vag 1.8 20v t engine there's so much more potential with those engines

gearbox i would have to look into, colt box maybe? or convert the evo box into fwd

  ValverInBits
but then the advantage of the VAG engines are that the boxes are good for the power. (sub 320lb/ft or thereabouts).

If you were going for an evo engine you'd want to keep the strength of the evo box. I am assuming that a colt box is going to throw toys earlier tho...

The whole Idea sounds great, but 4WD just seems a non option to me given the suspension setup at the back. And without the 4WD, you'd need to ask 'why pay the extra' on a more expensive engine, more expensive tuning parts... etc etc.
but I'll stick to my AGU 20v for the min. Just trying to find a manifold for a my 28RS atm.

yeah but if its in a clio that's sub 1000kg, realistically you're not going to need stupid power anyway! i may have to see what spares we've got kicking about at work ;)

Knock an Evo MK1 clio off in a long weekend?
I'll help for first drive shotgun ;)

there is a CONFIRMED 500bhp Civic Type r that ran in last years Time Attack, so you just have to use the throttle as a throttle, not a switch ;)

I have always liked the idea of a wankel powered Clio, small, light, and BIG power.
