CLIO GT TURBO

Hey how much would this cost to complete.I have a r5 gt turbo at my pals garage ,its been stripped so have all engine ect ect already.Now my mate will fit the lump and everything else ,wondering if you need to get anything else to complete it??

Once this is completed how would you value the motor.Bearing in mind this is no standard r5 it has big turbo , race cam ect ect

Im 19 ,but i can go under my friends work insurance which he has bought for his garage.This means i only pay the price for another driver to be added to his premium,which on a standard civic type r was £93.50p!!!!!!!!! So no insurance dont bother me.

so doe not building up no claims not bother you either? i love what u wanna do mate, but check insurance first, and if u insist on doing through your mates garage make sure theyll cover such exstenvive modifications, becausthats a big change and needs a specialist insurer

agreed, the insurance may be cheap but you will want to get a no claims bonus from them, if you dont then its not worth it.

you can get valvers for under a grand easy, 5 turbos for half that, no more than 1500 tops. you dont do this conversion to make money, just have a look at people who have tried to sell um. dont get me wrong, you wont regret it, but i only did it to piss off the local williams boys. works a treat.

oh no i am already recieving ncb from my valver already so the clio gt would be a bit of fun.Diamond geezer i have the gt turbo and the valver already,also have the mechanic to fit it all for free,that way i can av a bit of fun when its finished then sell it for a profit

make sure you use the clio gearbox as the box on the r5 is electronic speedo so it wont work without major f**king about!

unless you use the 5GTT dials and keep the GTT box, which is what i did, you will need 16v drive shafts if you do this

personally, for all the hassle, i wouldnt do it again, and the car will be worth less than a well maintained valver, its been proven on here a few times, they just dont sell at all

plus if the worst happened (it did to me) you would no doubt have to prove you worked for your mates company to be covered by his policy, could you easily do this ?

I think the chances of making money on a car with an r5 turbo lump in it are pretty slim,4 of my mates have got 5 turbos off the RTOC,there quick but they play up terrible,and before the ive had a r5 turbo and it never played up people start,these are cars that have had thousands spent on them and well looked after

dont keep the clio gearbox!, put the 5 turbo one on and change the clocks over, ive had to do this recently as the clio geabox gave up in a major way. the 5 turbo box feels stronger, pulls better, and makes it go faster. as for changing the speedo and clocks, peice of piss, the only problem i had, was fitting the electronic speedo cable in the gearbox, due to it location, and lack of correct tools. oh yeh, and install a fire extinguuisher? whys that then, you planning on having a bar b que go out of control or something, oh yeh thats right they burst in to flames for no aparent reason dont they. MUPPET!
