The Clios have always been the best value hot hatches, so comparing the new one to the new drivers car everyone is talking about seems quite relevant to me.
Maybe the case but the new Peugeot 308 GTi is a drivers car, a more humble rival - not a rear wheel drive coupe?
Is there an RS estate version?
now that is funny,
why didnt renault do a 3 door cup version to, stick a 2 litre in it (maybe a turbo) , give it 225 bhp, and manual option,
make the megane abit more powerful to 275 bhp, every ones happy.

Same target audience. Really?
Interesting comparison but ultimately a bit pointless in terms of influencing buying decisions. I wouldn't think there are too many people in the market for a £19k supermini who are also considering a £27k RWD coupe.
Yeah, I would say the majority of people interested in the GT86 are driving/car entheusiasts.
Id say the same thing about the Clio RS, unless we aren't bothered about driving on this site?
Hang on, aren't these new Clios spec'd to a nice standard about 22k?
You can spend 33k on a GT86.
It's relevant though isn't it?
I'm astonished people think this is a normal comparison.
They are driven at different ends of the car for a start. So yes, it's a stupid comparison.
FWD/RWDWhat?
What?

No it isn't it just depends what comparisons are being made...
One is RWD and one is FWD.
That's like people comparing the focus RS to an Evo FQ-400 SST. Different cars that appeal to different audiences.
Yes I know what drive they both are....
I was surprised by your comment to be honest.
So an Audi and a BMW can't ever be compared due to what wheels are driven?
To be honest I think that some people forget that there are people in the world that aren't on Cliosport who really want this car. My mum wants one for example. She wouldn't have been seen dead in a Clio 200.
Well I would have thought a potential car buyer would know what drive type they are after before they consider their options?
Doesnt really come Into play for me.
If I like the car, I don't care if its "only" FWD.
Id have an Audi over a 3 series for example, based on the car itself, not which wheels are driven.
