I tend to find that the rear seat belt bolts, in the boot behind the carpet side panels. Make good earth points, get a round ring type connection and attach to your earth cable & undo bolt and then tighten behind the bolt.

Just one solution my friend.

The BEST earth point on any car is the negative terminal on the battery. People only do this if they have strange results from earthing the amp anywhere else though as the earth cable in most wiring kits is only a foot long!

but that means u need a new earth cable as the ones in kits are bout 12" long if that! as long as its metal anywhere should be fine!

When mine was installed, they lifted the rear seats, and put a bolt through the base I think... doesnt look like a renault bolt anyway!

Dont you have a couple of bolts at the back of the boot where that plastic lump is and the ISO child seat hooks are?

I took one of those off and stuck it under there. They tighten down really well so youll get a good contact.

The best earth is not the battery. You should always earth your sounds to a separate earth point. Even if you have a battery in the boot you would not earth an amp to the negative terminal. Make your earth as sort as poss. Just drill a hole almost right next to your earth point on the amp and earth it there, make the earth as sort as possible.

This is the worst thing you can do! A common earth is the way to eradicate unwanted noise from the system.

Honestly buddy, you should have a common earth for your amps but not anything else or you DO get interference. Like if your brake lights are on the same earth point and when you put your foot on the break you get a pop through your amps. Keep your ICE earths separate from everything else!!!

did it today, didnt seem to be able to use any bolt other than the one holdin the rear passenger side seat belt in place, car side of things, not boot, one in the corner

my amp checks the earth before it will play and its worked every time so it must be ok......a lot better than where i had it before !

I attatched my earth in my mk1 to the rear seatbelt bolts. works wonderful here. Good idea to put a bit of copperslip grease on too make it easyer to get off when taking the amp out :)

Was going to drill hole under the rear seat and use a big 10mm bolt self tapper but wasnt sure on where the petrol tank was.

ive used the boot lock catch, just trimmed the plastic cover a bit and you cant see the cables at all, as they go under a false floor

I scraped a bit of paint off the inside of the boot and riveted it through. Even when my amp got nicked the earth wire remained LOL
