How on earth do i take the speed-o Cable out the top of the gear box ?

Can't remember exactly but when I changed the gearbox on my old valver i think you just pushed two clips together and it pulled out pretty easily?? It was pretty straightforward anyway whatever way it came out.
Ok here goes.
1. Disconnect the left hand drive shaft at the gearbox end. No need to disturb the hub end as the driveshaft/swivel hub can be removed together.
2. Extract the sirclip and thrustwasher then withdraw left hand sun wheel from the differential. The sun wheel also acts as a driveshaft spider housing.
3.Turn differential unit until the planet wheels are in a vertical plane so that the speedomter drivegear is visible.
4. Pull the clip and disconnect the speedometer cable from the outside of the gearbox.
5. Using longnose pliers extract the speedometer drivegear shaft from inside the differential housing.
6. examine the drivegrear teeth from wear and damage. Renew if necessary.
