clio mk2 ph1 rsi

i would like to know the positives and negetives please of this model, also whats the tuning abilities for it?
ill be buying one in may but do you think the ph1 rsi is better than the ph2? same engines but i like the idea of half leather and electric sunroof

Well I thought Mk2 RSi 1000 were made in UK but it not. It 1000 mk2 RSi were made in Europe!

RSi have got leather seats, electric sunroof, some have alloy bonnet & have few options. Same engine ph2 but RSi is ligther & a bit quicker. Ph2 will not leather interior or some don't have electric sunroof.

As Giles says they are quite rare, I've never seen another on the road, the photo's of Giles's car show it is a clean example; imo you could do a lot worse than buy a car as well looked after as his, off a cliosport club member no less.

IMO They are a good car all in. I like mine, it has all the electrics half leather etc.
It feels nippy enough for me for the moment, I therefor haven't spent money modifying it.
It is the same 110bhp 1.6 16v engine found in the 1.6 16v models, they are naturally not as quick as a 1*2 but anyone who's driven one will confirm; they are anything but slow and cruise at motorway speeds and have pulls well when you need to overtake even if you have the car fully loaded.

It has had a couple of probs since I got it and these have cost a reasonable amount to amend but it was doing 330miles a week in all weathers without putting up a fight.

I don't have much bad to say about them really, just hope it behaves itself for a few years.

yeah I know they are much rare, just found out again about it. They are great car & feel nice with the Rsi leather interior:approve:

been looking at getting one as a gap from a 1.2 to a 2.0
the ones i have seen have quite high mileage, it kind of puts me of abit but i think they are fantastic
