Clio not starting

  Renault Clio Grande
Hi there,

I've recently bought a Clio Grande 1.2 (2001) and after a 2 week period during Christmas break without using the car, came back to find out it won't start. Battery seemed flat so we tried to jump start it, with no luck. It had to be towed to the garage, but the mechanic can't find out the problem. The immobilizer light doesn't go on, but to be honest I don't remember seeing it going on and then off, like usually in Renaults (so I was wondering if maybe it had been tampered with before). All usual fuses are OK and the crank shaft sensor has been replaced, but there's still no spark or petrol being pumped, and the mechanic is not an expert on immobilizer stuff.
Any suggestions on what it might be due to? Anything I can try to do to fix it?
The car only came with one key, so I can't try with a spare one.

Cheers

Tdc sensor on the top of the gear box is common mate. We used to change them for fun when I worked at renault

  Clio.
Normally the wiring loom just outside the under bonnet fuse box goes green internally, look for small wires that have 'grown' internally.
thats if the immob light isn't coming on etc....
