Clio number 10 I think?

Back in a 182 - how predictable!

As much as I like my mk4 wagon it was just not a drivers car so it had to go and should be going at the weekend.

I obviously still have the Evo but made the decision to keep it garaged over winter so therefore needed something to run around in.

I Saw Matthew was selling this one so decided to have a punt! Got some nice bits on it, recaros and good history with belts and clutch done etc. Went to have a look and we did a deal - here are some pictures Matt took as he is clearly better than me!

The car isn't without fault but it appears to be mostly cosmetic. The front bumper must've been sprayed by stevie wonder as it
is literally a DIFFERENT COLOUR. I actually chuckle when I see it as its so far off. The Bonnet is also pretty much shagged with dents frOm been pushed down and also rust bubbles coming from under the paint. That's stuff I can get sorted easily so not that bothered about it.

After picking up last night I decided to swap the oil and filter this morning as I wasn't sure when it was last done.

Ready for action!

Matt had done a really nice boot install but due to my over productive testicles I have several children so rear seats are required.

Found an interior near me and picked it up yesterday ready for installation. I was a little daunted at the prospect as it appeared complicated with the belts etc.

But after an hour or so I managed to get the bench and belts all in and back together again.

Also bastardised matts carpet to make a boot one!

That's where I'm up to at the moment. I have got some standard front seats and am
Considering selling the recaros but not sure at the moment.

Plans are to get the front end sorted, change the front tyres and then enjoy it.

God speed little Clio. It was brief but enjoyable.

Glad you bought it in the end Jim, as it will be nice to see it finisihed. I just didnt have the space, time or funds (with the wedding) in the end to carry thorugh my plans.

Its a a cracking base though. All the big (read as expensive) bits done.

For heavens sake though, make sure you clean the front seatbelts. They were litterally minging.

I'd change the belts for dark ones to match the new rears myself.

Keep the recaro's - yes they're useless but they good in there :)

Someone seems to have painted the whole car a slightly different colour to the front bumper mate. Must have taken a fair bit of effort and dollar.

Hopefully the new plugs will sort it. Was always fine when warm and driving, just from cold!

Looks fab Jim. That colour match is something I would do if I was a painter. Thankfully I sell cars which at times I can't do that either. Hey ho, good luck with the plans

Looks like it's running mad camber at the front in those pics, could be the angle though.

Oh, and if you ever fancy selling those F1's let me know ;)

Not noticed mad camber so im guessing it's the pics. I wouldn't mind some turinis for it but I like the tyre prices on a 15.

Plug change this morning. I've never done it before but used the guide on here and it went ok (ish).

Thanks to George for the plugs of course.

I'll see over the next few days if it solves the misfire problem.

  330i. E30 Touring.
If not that, it'll be coilpack, leads or injector. Latter being my bet.

To diagnose which cylinder, take the fuel rail guard off. While running, unplug an injector plug one at a time. If the misfire gets worse, move onto the next one. If it doesn't, hey presto!

If you're ever in the right mind for trade in wheels let me know mate. Near perfect Anthracite turini's (cup offset iirc), my progress thread has pics of them.

Cheers, I've actually got an engine light on the other day so might plug it in and see what it says.

Going on the mileage it may be leads as mine developed a misfire when cold and then gradually got worse. If you're free at the weekend I'll pop over for a nosey :)

Car runs like a champ now with the new plugs. I've still got the serv light on and airbag light for the seats but it's running a lot better.

Spent a few hours on it today, rinsed, foamed, rinsed, washed, rinsed etc. Hit it with tardis and dragons breath and then attacked it with the G3 clay mitt followed by AG high resin polish and AG hd wax.

So nice with F1's on!

My Serv and Airbag lights always come on, I just play with the wires under the passenger seat and they go off again.

Was chatting today with Imprezaworks re the suspension. It's running apex but I would've thought it would look lower as they're supposed to drop 40mm?

Looks good. As per are chat before I still think it looks a bit high. If photobucket was working I'd paste a pic of my old cup which didn't look slammed
