Clio phase 1 1.8 16v gearbox replacment

hi everyone im new to the forum and ive only been a renault owner for a few months having been a vauxhall enthusiast for a fair bit. Just a quick question as unfortunelty my pride and joy (1.8 16v) is in need of a new gearbox after an idiot left a road sign face down on the dual carrigway and it destroyed my gearbox.also this gearbox was brand new from renualt in 2005 which makes it even worse. I am havin problems finiding a 2nd hand gearbox and i was woundering what other gearboxes would fit without altearing the speed etc, ive been told that a renault 19 16v and williams will fit but they are also hard to find, ive read sumwere that a 172 box is straight swap but im not sure wether to buy one.any advice off clio enthusiast will be greatly appreciated.thanks aled

boxs come up all the time on clio16valver,

but 172,williams,valver, ph1 megane boxes and some mk1 clio 1.4 boxes fit.

the above mentioned boxes will fit but they have different gear ratios. Clio Williams's, Ragnotti's, 172's and 182's ratio are the same but 1.8 16V has different ratio. New boxes don't have speedo cable connector. (for example: JC5-129 has speedo cable output but JC5-130 doesn't have)
