Reliablity wise? could be used as a daily? (Its Simon from Spray Shack by the way)
Hi Simon....at least you know the interior parts are painted properly LOL
The car is completely reliable. I use the car daily, and have done since August last year with this conversion. As part of my job, I drive from various sites on numerous occasions during the day too. Recently passed its MOT (that's two now with this conversion) only needed a tyre this year. All the functions work as should in the Clio, air con, cruise, TC. Like I said its used daily so its exposed to the elements but those who have seen it have commented very positively on the car, and its well received on the forums.
Worth remembering that the engines only had 6k when fitted, and the R26 gearbox was just sorted by RS Tuning. Suspensions been on less than a year, 18 months the exhaust, PF brakes just had the once over, new PF pads, regular oil changes....
I'm in my 40's so don't go round racing people but this is not a car to be messed with. Its got the same torque as E46 M3, and spend another £300, you'll see 360 lbft, with suspension and brakes to cope with it.
I'm only selling cause wife thinks I should now grow up, and finally stopped nagging me and has given her
permission for the next car. (I fancy V8 M3 or RS6). Was thinking about keeping the clio too however, it would be wrong for the clio to be a second car cause I've been there before and I never could find the time to justify driving it as a second car - Life busy enough without having to justify getting up on a sunday morning to take it out LOL.
There is also the possibility of putting it back to standard and although it worth more that way, would sooner see it go to someone who loves it as much as I do, and will continue to 'push open the envelope' in its development.
Will be really sad to see it go.....
