Clio RSI 1.8

Hi guys I'm new to this Cliosport.net forum.

I have a very old Clio mk1 RSI 1.8 8v that I want to bring back to life as there are so few now. More so I want to tune the standard engine and not do an engine swap.

I'm thinking;
racing cam
Head port and polished
Decat and cat back exhaust.

I believe if I can find an old Renault Laguna RXE 2.0 litre 8 valve I can take off the bottom end and fit it to the RSI head and fit it back into the car, obviously making it a 2.0 8v.

Can anyone confirm this or provide any good advice? I'd very much appreciate your help guys. Thanks.

  Lots of Scrap...
They're all volvo derived engines the old 8v lumps and yes believe you can swap the bottom end over without issue

Keep us posted, what's the rust situation like? it looks like it's a decent shell from the pictures? I think the only RSI bit left is the side skirt are you going to put any rsi badges or original RSI wheels and spoiler back on it?

Its rock solid mate, I got underneath it and grinded all the surface rust off and treated it the under sealed it. I'll be removing the sub frame and wishbone to powder coat them yellow.

I'm having a steel racing cam made for it which will take 6 weeks from now. I have ported and polished the cylinder head and added dimpling. The engine is being rebuilt and with a Laguna 2.0 bottom end.
