Clio Rsi oil guage

i have just bought a new mk1 Rsi, im new to the renault world, but i'm very pleased with the car, my quesion is the three oil guages above the center console, there is oil amount, oil temp and oil pressure, the guage that displays the amount of oil reads about half way when i first start the car, then drop's to nothing about 30 seconds later, although there is plenty of oil in the engine??
is it supposed to do this?? any help would be greatly appreciated

yep its normal, it cant read the amount of oil whilst it's splashing about in the engine

Didn't think the RSIs came with the oil gauges, just the valvers/williams ?

He must have a PH3 RSi...

These came with those gauges fitted, like mine

i thought that, but a nova gsi reads oil amount whilst driving the car, the guage simply moves up and down the revs, and yes it is a phase 3, brilliant car too might i ad!!
