clio rt 16v conversion

anyone on here with the engine swap?

what were the labour costs?

how do you get insured?

is it worth it?

im toying with the idea i got the need for speed btw my brakes and suspension are upgraded anyway so thats not a prob

Insurance depends on the company. Liverpool Victoria charge very little others wont cover it.

Its about £1.4k for a 16V engine to be dropped in all inclusive

my ex missus did it except she used a willy lump with thousands spent on it tbs, etc(rich b**ch) but its just snapped a camshaft and fooked the engine bigtime so the 1.4s going back in till she can afford a scoob was insured as a 1.4 tho

To be honest, if I wanted a 16v engine, Id buy a 16v.. not worth the hassle/extra money for something which probably wont perform aswell as the real thing.

If I was to do a conversion on my 1.2, itd be a GTT or something else, like a Megane or something.. something a bit different.

Thats me tho.. heh.

too right i was gonna get a 1.4 do the swap until i found out it would be harder to insure properly, more expensive mechanically than buying a valver to swap engine, brakes suspension etc over to a 1.4 and then you havent got the arches etc

tis cool tho having 1.4 badges on the side blowing away anything that dares to race you they think "oh look a boy/girlracer in a sh**ty 1.4 lets race em oh dear there pulling like a scalded cat" but then i got a valver and im happy knowing the fact i havent got to do any engine changes or modifications (for a while)
