Clio RT Pre 96. 8V or 16V

I've totally forgot as its been ages since i changed a cam belt on this engine. But is it a 8v or a 16V ?
(Pre 1996 RT's)

That is what i thought and then they introduced the 1.4s in 16V in 1996.

As far as I know the 1.4 16v was indroduced in 1999 in the mk2ph1 Clio??

I thought the same 1.4 16V engine thats in the 1998+ mk2 Ph1.
Was also put in some Mk1 Ph3 shells that are called Clio 1.4S Maxim

I hope I'm right or I'm going feel like a tit as I've explained this to a customer when they came in the garage the other week :rasp:

A 1.4 'S' or maxim same car different by 6 months- i had an 's' for 4 years, its definitly an 8v same energy lump as all of the mk1 clios, the 16v lump was only in mk2 phase 1 1.4!!!!

O I thought they put one of the 1.4 'DiET' Engines in the ph3
Like they put the 1.2 'DiET's in there
