I recently bought a 1999 Renault Clio 1.2 RN for my daughter, the set belt/air bag warning light is on, the original seats have been changed and a set of seats from a 172 cup clio fitted upon checking the wiring under the seats the seat wiring is disconnected due to the wiring sockets and wiring being different from the original seats, is there away i can connect up the 172 cup seats so the air bags ,seat belts work and put the warning lamp out.I am also having trouble with the central locking the light on the key fob flashes but will not open the doors, the button by the gear stick will open and lock the doors, I have changed the battery in the key fob.

As JME said the 172/182 cup seat's don't have airbag's try and get some pic's of them up, are you 100% sure they came from a 172cup ???

The Dynamique seats come with a pattern on them.
They're cup seats?
They're not that bad all in all, but they're a lot lighter than the FF seats!

why have the cup seats been put in mate??
normally when you crash the seat airbag blows, you buy new seats and have to have the airbag computer replaced by renault, otherwise you'l never get rid of the lights.
if it's not this then i'm sure an auto electrician can find you a resistor for the plug.

not sure why the seats have been put in,I think they were just sport type seats, (I checked the car has never been in a accident) if I connect the resistors across the wiring plugs will the seat belt tensioners and drivers airbag still work? or can the wiring be hard wired to the seats, what colour wires would I need to connect up with my wiring plugs being different on the seats to the wiring harness.
as the seats have no airbags youd have to just put resistors to the wiring for the airbag-thatll turn off the light once connected properly as it did with mine (i didnt have to rewire pretensioners though) ,the pretensioners you will have to retro wire in order to make them work still and then the light will go out,do a search for "Edde" as he has done a post all about it
