Clio Sport 182 Front Bumper

I'm making my DCI into a bit of the rep of the 182. Unfortunately, I had a minor collision a few days ago and my front bumper needs replacing, and I thought this would be a good opportunity to get it replaced for a 182 one.
I suspect the 182 fits the DCI variant (front and back bumpers), but I've seen some sellers selling the wings too? Are the 182 side wings different to the normal ones that come with the DCI?

The sport front bumper is wider than non sports so yeah in order to fit a 172/182 front bumper you will need to fit the wigs, side skirts and arch liners. I would suggest you get a 172 rear bumper aswell as it doenst have the twin cut out for the exhaust, unless you are planning to fit a 182 lookalike exhaust?

What colour is your car?

Mine is black. Yes I'm planning to get the twin exhaust too. I was planning on giving the insurance company the bumper to fit, but if the wings and everything needs need to be fitted at the same time, probably best if I do it myself.

I found the full set for about 200, different colour. Found another front and back in black in close proximity to me.

What are the arch liners?

I have a full set in Monaco blue for a 172 for £140. Including the Fog lights, Needs the top grille and side skirt brackets.
You can always cut the rear exhaust pieces out and fit the trims once you've managed to get an exhaust system.

if yours is black, i'd suggest trying to find a full kit off a black 172 as the colour is the same as the non sports, whereas the 182's are a different shade of black. Then as above then when you get your exhaust, make the cut outs yourself. Saving the need to get everything resprayed

I got a set of pearl black 172 wings (same colour as your car) for sale. Drop me a pm if your interested.

I've already got some 182 ones hold, sorry.
Is the back twin exhaust compatible with the existing DCI setup. Would it be just a case of disconnecting the rear back piece and attaching the twin pipes?

Also, is the digital climate control system compatible with the dial ones? Had a look at the connections on both via some images, one of the two looks the same, but can't be sure.

The 182 exhaust wont fit on your DCI as you have a spare wheel in the way, however you can get 182 look alike ones which will fit. And i dont think the dial system can be upgraded with the climate control system as the dial uses cables whereas the climate control is plugged in. If that makes sense

So where is the spare wheel located on the 182? Any chance you can post a look a like one? Will it actually serve as an exhaust or just be there for show?

182's don't have one, you just get a can of tyre repair foam instead. Will get you a pic of the lookalike ones in a sec but yeah they work as a fully functional exhaust. If you just type 182 look exhaust in Google images you will see what I mean

Had a look, interesting looking exhaust. Only problem is its almost £500!!

Tbh I really wouldn't bother with the 182 look exhaust for the money the they cost,

As above just get a pearl black 172 kit, will be same colour bolt straight on and cost a hell of a lot less in the long run.

yes, id strongly recommend getting hubcentric ones though

Add potentially longer wheel bolts to that list as well. But yes, Hubcentric spacers are a great shout. For the cost it may be worth going for some RS wheels or Aftermarket 15" or 16" items.

Short and simple answer is no for the reasons stated.

If I was in your position I would personally buy a black Phase 2 Clio 172 with a snapped 'belt ;they are cheap enough. That way you will gain all of the parts that you need (and I do mean everything ; wheel arch liners, bumpers, lights etc. etc.), potentially also a set of wheels and maybe even an interior depending how far you wish to go with the car. Either break the rest of the car for what you can get for it or weigh it in. It would work out cheaper than hunting for all of the parts and probably be a damn sight easier too.

Speaks sense tbh

@Clio 1.5 dci
I have a useable pearl black 172 for sale mot until October. So you'd have everything including the interior and you could then sell off the engine etc. For £600

Mr rep here.

My advice, get a body kit in the colour of your car. It will save you time, money and hassle with paint issues.

182 exhaust will look silly unless the car is the same registration year as a 182. It's also a lot of money to spent on an exhaust for just a "look"

The plug for the climate control is the same shape for the green one but that's where the similarities end. It requires a total rewire of the ventilation system.

Spacers are find but you can also fit wide track from a 172.

Have a look at my 172 rep thread

You were saying about siliness? I don't think so ;).

I prefer the look of it for a number of reasons and don't feel it looks out of place but I would not do it to another car for a number of reasons:

1) Cost ; The system worked out as much a Miltek system for a custom bloke to build
2) MOT time ; due to the design the emissions probe does not really go up the exhaust and give a good reading. It is a good job I know my MOT tester, because I would be screwed otherwise.

I picked up the following parts for a 182: front bumper, wings, side skirts, rear bumper, side door strips for £150 - all in black, albeit a different shade.
I've also got the darker 182 wheels fitted.

Is the rear 172 bumper the same as the DCI?
Your DCI rep thread is impressive, you've implemented a lot of things I want to do with mine, cruise control (I do 1K miles every fortnight) and the digital heater, but I don't have the know-how to do it myself! have you installed AC?

That's because a 182 is black gold and you're car will be pearl black same as a 172.

It'll be cheaper to buy it all in pearl black than to have it all painted unless you're not that bothered about the difference!
