Clio Tax

  RB 182
Just been looking in a magazine, and the tax for my 2002 172 goes upto £260 next year :(

Am i the only one that thinks our leader has got it the wrong way round, and he should be getting the smokey old sheds off the road, not the newer cars?

Also, just wondered how much the fine is for driving with no tax - g/f got fined £200 a yr or so ago when she forgot it for a month, so if its only that much... ;)

  Never above 25mpg
But dont you have to pay the fine AND for the road tax after as surely they'll be onto your car then... so £460? hmm...

Nothing wrong with older cars... hopefully he'll turn the tax around.. get more money somehow seeing as the petrols gone down a fair bit.

  In between cars....
I thought it was 270?

When does the new tax kick in? Will try and get a year before the new price kicks in

  Lots of Alfas
Its £260 from apr 2009. I dont think its fair that you tax older cars more. However the system is confusing. The tax for a 172mk1 isnt going up next year it will be £185. Yet it has the same engine and emissions as a car that was made 3 months later, an extra £75 just because of the date it rolled off the production line..

Exactly

Just reminds me of the V8 1995 LR Discovery that i saw in work, tax was £170 for 12 months lol. Failed its MOT on emissions, need i say more...

I am buying 12 months at the end of this month, worth it really when i will be saving £30

I'm not bothered about road tax tbh if you love driving and your tax goes up £100 a year (1*2 for example) its like 2 quid a week, you'd be stupid to sell your car over that, i mean will falling petrol prices your up on the deal anyway. But people not thinking like this is why 1*2's prices are falling rapidly. You would probly get the same cash for an 05 30,000 mile dci 80 than the equilivant 182

Im sure my friend said his tax was 185 quid on his 330 gooch conversion escort cossie

Shouldn't be too much of a problem for people on here. 90% of ClioSport owners earn £60,000+ per annum. :)

So its only going up to £260? Because i was looking on the dvla the other day about the new tax brackets for next year, and it seems my car still stays at £210? I drive a 52 plate Cup... Some others ive been talking to say its going to £400! It just seems like chinese whispers if you ask me!

  53 Clio's & counting
so just so i get this right how much will i be paying for my ph1 which was reg'd in june 2001?

320 miles out of the last tank of V Power - not my daily hack so not a real concern, having stupid amounts of tax on it to sit in the garage was the main push !
