Clio Valver and high miles - wow!

Ive recently started doing a 50-mile daily A/B-road commute plus business mileage in my Valver, which already has 104,000 miles on the clock. For the last month, Ive been doing about 500 miles a week (2000 a month!). After so much previous experience and having heard so many nightmare stories, I thought I was definitely going to have to replace it very soon. But to my amazement its just fantastic!!

It was once said to me by Lofty that if you drive your Valver/Williams every day, you enjoy what makes them so great many times over. Well, I can completely confirm this, since I have chosen to leave the swanky-spec 2.0T Volvo S40 I also have the use of at home every single day!

The Valvers steering is just alive in your hands, the power so instant and manic and the handling balance and feel is just totally amazing. I even get 40mpg from it! And as for those weedy Focus ST170s and A3 1.8Ts I meet on the roads... ;)

So the moral of the story is to forget diesels and boring everyday transport: a loved 16V/Willy will do the miles and care for you too. :D

Yeah I work part time at a computer consultants and drive about 8 miles there and back but those 8 miles are comprised of 4 miles of wide (yes they do exist) country lanes and 4 miles duel carriageway!!

Love driving to work.

I agree with you Ben - i travel 50miles a day with my once clocked 42k valver, which has now racked up 72k miles! And i can that every mile has kept me smiling on my travels! I love driving my valver to work, and never get bored going to and from work!

Im having a williams engine slapped in next month - so this should just add to the fun, i just hope the MPG doesnt go through the roof, as like you said Ben, 38mph is outstanding for a hot hatch!
