Clio won’t start

My girlfriends 1.4 Dynamique wont start. Not even 11 month old. Classic Renault.

My parents bought a new Merc A class and that wouldnt start after a month and they paid a load of it. No company is able to make a very reliable car.

Whats exactly happens?

is the engine turning over? if so the starter is ok.....

is there a spark?

is there fuel? (do you hear the fuel pump prime when the key is first moved to position 2?)

It seems to be ok now... It was ticking over but then just died... Going to take it to Renault tomorrow anyway...

i had exactly the same with mine(sometimes it cut-out when changing gear to slow down for junctions)

i think they changed TDC sensor ECU and the TB and that seemed to do the job

TDC sensor is a very common problem with non starts..

My brother had the same problem, his problem was his battery, some of the cells in that had gone.

Cant believe it... Rang Renault today and explained the situation... The thing is my girlfriend doesnt finish work until 5.30 so we wont be able to take the car in until then (and she aint taking mine to work). So we said we would have to bring it in and leave it... "So can I have another car while you have mine", are lass said... "Yes but it will be £8 per day" he said... I couldnt believe it. A 11 month old car f**ks up and they want us to pay for the use of another car... Whats all that about.
