clocking back a instrument panel from a breakers?

  Iceberg 172
is it true that if you purchase a used instrument panel it will retain the mileage from the other car? I'm getting a new panel from a breakers and its slightly higher mileage than my vehicle. Is it possible to restore my true mileage or not? Although i'm saving alot by not buying brand new from renault it would still be nice if I could keep my original miles on the clock for when i come round to selling.

my mates dad had 2 ring the DVLA and they just recorded it was x amount that it stated so when he came 2 sell it he could prove what it had done but u can get it done back hand if u know the right people

yeah i have an MOT and service from september which is around 44k or so but the new panel reads 52k so it would have been possible to do those miles. The annoying thing is that i only use it once/twice a week now due to change in circumstances so it would have had about 45k heh. :dead: Its not a massive difference though and I will make it clear to any buyers etc.

Kiza: Yup I think the digi is the problem. I assume they have much more protection than the old days.
