This is not a race thread, I just want to say Pug 106 GTI, v quick nearly embarrased my cup today. Seriously impressed with them.
wish i could tell yous more! Is it possible my cup is not the fastest thing on the road??!?!?!

A few choice (and very simple - IK, zorst, manifold) mods will see tham at 140+ bhp... and when you consider they weigh less than a wet rag... its not surprising they are very hard to shake off!!

Cracking little cars, and superbly geared for acceleration imho.

i had a standard gti and stuck with a cup till end of 4th from flat out in 2nd, he later pulled a car length tho from a blast in 2nd at lowish revs, but the 106 didnt do bad at all considering its only a 1.6!

quick little motors! the cup in question had cliosport ctickers, and i put a spotted but nobody owned up!

i luv the 106gti i was considering it for a gap year before i would get the 172.

ive seen 106gti with 180+ bhp and then nos ontop.

me mate had a 106 rally with 140 bhp and considering thats like a cup its fast as f....

theres a 106gti in wakey thats shed some more weight, got near 150bhp and sorted suspension (suspension standard is good anyhow) in my std 172 particularly from a handling point of view theres no way id take it on, never underestimate a 106gti especially a modded one otherwise your gonna get shafted if your caught off guard

they are very nippy, just like the vts as they dont weigh much are very hard to pull away from

This one caught me unawares, thought he was gonna get past on the DC off the sliproad, but i just managed to slowly pull away after he was nearly level.

my mate managed to get 140 on the dial in his, that was standard apart from an exhust & ik.
his was a w reg 2000 model as well, so it kicked out a bit more from the factory any way.
