Clouds FF AB 182

  Clio 182 FF Cup
So I picked this shed up about a week ago and it needs some serious bodywork done!!! Lots of little dinks and a small crease on the roof not to mention a full refurb required on the wheels before Im happy with it.

Good points though it had done 63k, had all belts done under 20k ago and was an absolute bargain!

So far all that's been done is:

  • New tyres all round
  • Fitted new exhaust hangers last night (last ones were completely shot)
  • Ordered some touchup from autopaint St.Helens for the body work and some for the Alloys as a temp measure
  • Bought a standard airbox from Shaunjealaher to replace the Piperx currently on the car
  • Got rid of these awful lexus lights and replaced with originals

Plans to be carried out:

  • Replace rear shocks as they have had it
  • Brakes to be replaced all round
  • De-haze headlights
  • Replace missing front splitter....Suggestions???
  • Cree 501's for the sidelights, number plate light and so on
  • Smaller number plate to fit the front recess....Suggestions on where to get this???
  • RsTuner with the 98ron map

More to follow let me know if you have any suggestions :D

Little update:

All paint touchups done

Standard airbox is in...sounds much better

Ordered these for the rear and will be hopefully fitting at the weekend if they arrive...should sort the rattling fingers crossed :D

Ordered some Cree's for the side lights to get rid of that yellow tinge
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410904256.610684.jpg

Aero wipers for the front also ordered

And this restoration kit for the lights...it was cheap comes with a sealer and the reviews look like it's worth a punt

I'm now on the hunt for a new exhaust. A scorpion one popped up on eBay earlier with a small amount of damage but it's now gone :( would have fit my budget perfectly...any ideas?

Ta mate! Nice lad on here sent me a new skoda splitter for free which was a big help! So that will be going on tomorrow [emoji16]

I'll keep you posted on the brakes had a check the other day and disks were in gd condition minus abit of overheating and pads have about 50% left....wouldn't mind something updated though...

Cheers mate :)

Quick bit of progress from this morning. Started restoring my lights as they had done the usual foggy/yellow oxidisation thing!
I used quixx light restore think I linked it further up the thread, I was actually surprisingly impressed for under a tenner! Although I would say as the grades of paper that it comes with are 2k,3k and 5k it would be worth going an extra step and buying some 1500 grit!

They're not perfect but so so much better than before :)

Now off to do the splitter and rear suspension!

So to solve the rear knocking noise I tried installing some powerflex rear upper mounts....I can only assume that the shocks on the car aren't standard as the top thread wouldn't fit through the metal sleeve that comes with the new bushes! Instead I used the old ones...no surprise there's still some knocking (reduced) but there all the same so looks like I'll be buying some new shocks anyway!
FAIL!!!

Fitted the new skoda splitter and it makes the car look so much better...pics to follow!

And finally polished up the exhausts with some help of autosol

Much better :)

So all in all not the result I wanted because the rear of the car is doing my nut but progress still :)

More goodies :)
And good news the powerflex top mounts fit!!! So they will be going on Friday.

My friend has also managed to sort me some ngk iridiums and new gasket for £40 so these will also be going in at the weekend to try and solve the rich running issue! My guesses so far are:

Spark plugs?
Coil pack?
Lambda sensor?

Any other suggestions?

Did some more bits today...

Then moved onto the spark plugs which has made a huge difference the old ones were def past they're best!
Also decided to paint the inlet manifold whilst it was off.
Pics to follow I've used my quota for uploads?

Thought I'd have a clean up this weekend so set to clay baring and a full wax....never done this before!
Also decided to paint the grills and fog surrounds as they were faded!

I know I know...I should have removed the grills and surrounds but I was scared of breaking clips/never getting them back on so I just covered the entire car in masking tape and the tv times instead :D

cheers mate!
Noticed some blemmishing on the roof that the clay would clear.....Im now thinking gloss black roof wrapp?

Has anybody had any success with the standard exhaust and removing the centre section in favour of a straight pipe, if so what did it sound like?
