from standstill when im setting off im getting a clunking noise, seems to be coming from the middle to back of the car, also get this when reversing, when im driving though its fine,no clunks....anyone?
I had the exact same problem with my old Saxo after a new exhaust was fitted. Turns out the garage did not fit it correctly so it moved about but I only ever noticed it when pulling off. Took it to another garage who found that the original garage had used the wrong bolts to hold it together. Never had any issues with it after that.
update, ive had the dog bone mount changed and also the passanger side ball joint has been changed......the clunk noise is still coming from the passanger side footwell,it is pretty loud whilst you are in the car...if i set off really slow it dosent do it,when i set of normal to fast it will clunk...not sure what else to look at.
update....ok then....garage rang me today and they can hear the noise on the road rest, but they said when they get it up on the hoist they can not locate were the noise is coming from, they said they have checked everything, they want me to take the car and keep driving it till problem develops more..so far they have changed dogbone mount, and balljoint....they said they have checked all mounts....can anyone shed any light on this for me please..
is it the rear brakes like my old saxo? when i park the car on a slope using the handbrake. when i come back to it and move off the pads are still in contact with the disc and then release! noticed my clio does it as well if the brakes have been hot when i stop!!! just an idea.
