Iceberg 172
I have a mk2 172 60k.
Last night when i went to start the car the battery was dead, i got a jump start and everything seemed fine. I was driving down the motoreway and all of a sudden all of the lights on the dash started flickering. Once i sped up they went steady again n non of the indicator lights were on but when i went to change gear the clutch went stiff like it is when the car is off. I pulled into the nearest car park and went back this morning and changed the battery. When i turned the ignition on the clutch remained stiff still and when i put my foot on the accelerator nothing happened, it didnt rev whatsoever, the engine just remained ticking over. I turned the ignition on and off and after about 4 attempts it began revving. I drove home but the clutch remained stiff all the time and when i reached about 4500 revs the engine was making a clunky sort of noise. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be and how after the initial problem seemed to be the battery it has turned into this?
