Clutch Pedal Again!!

Sorry for starting another topic about the clutch. But i dont think any1 as ever asked this.

As any1 heard of the soft clutch pedal conversion?? I went to GSF spares to get a clutch and gone for the R5 uprated one, and the bloke said i can get something for the clutch from Reno to make the pedal softer, apparently most R5s have one of these.

Anyone???

can get one from BB tuning mate. or if you look down by the pedal, there is a green block? you can remove that. makles the pedal lighter.

  172 cup,s2 rs turbo

there was a reno mod many years ago.they fitted an extra bracket on the gearbox where the clutch cable is attached

There is a soft pedal conversion available for the 5 turbo, but its not true that most of them have it, infact its very few. Its not a genuine renault conversion but one that most tuning companies do, which involves extending the release arm on the gearbox to give it more leverage, hence making it softer. To be honest I cant see what all the fuss is about over the GTTs clutch, Ive had uprated clutches fitted to my old 5 turbos and they have never been that bad that it needs to be any softer!

Actually, I think you can also fit the release arm from the Volvo 440 (or 480) turbo, these are slightly longer than the ones on the R5 and are a direct replacement as the Volvo uses a renault gearbox.
