Be kind, I'm a bit of a gamer novice:

Played a few missions, PS3 saves to HDD automatically. All very well and good, next day I try and resume the level I was stuck at the day before, but it resumes me a few missions earlier, I don't wanna complete those missions over and over,...

HELP!!!

Are you quitting out before a checkpoint or end of level?

no mate, it was working fine with levels and checkpoints, saving, exiting and powering down etc, and then weirdly it's not.
