coil pack on a 1.6 k4m

pretty sure my coil pack has gone with:
-the management light on and ASR lights on
-reduced power deliver
-tappy engine (as if its missing a cylinder) and same on the exhaust
-rattling the entire car on idle
- no excess smoke etc etc

does that sound about right?

also where abouts is it to be changed and the best/cheapest option​

don't the 1.6 have 4 coil pencil things, with my old 1.6 I had same as above, also had burning smell from exhaust, and it went into limp mode. easiest thing to do is to disconnect 1 at a time, and find the one thats not working

yeah they have pencil coils on the 1.6 16v engine.

yeh had a closer look today and it is pencil coils
got one replacement going to fit it tomorrow

best way to find the faulty one?

or should i just replace the new one with the first one then the first one with the 2nd then the 2nd with the 3rd then the 3rd with the 4th
untill i find the faulty one and it the car works as its intended?

Start engine, unhook each coil one at a time, engine noise gets worse that coils fine, engine noise stays the same, thats the one thats fucked.

wont that be dangerous due to high voltage flowing through them?

^no, only 12V or whatever going into them, the spark plug end is the bit that hurts @ 40,000V LOL
