Coilovers..

  BG 182
Ok basically I got some 30mm Eibach lowering springs and for me its not low enough, so after christmas is over im going to be looking into getting a coilover pack.. I just wondered from those of you who have coilovers which ones suit the PH2 172 best? And if you have pictures aswell that would help a great deal to get an idea of what mine could look like. Also do you think they are worth getting? Ive heard they are a bumpy ride?

Thanks,
Danni

I bought mine with fk coilovers on and the ride is hard but livable, and it looks nice and low if you want it to. Im not sure how to get pics up though

H and R (£750) or Leda (£1k+) but there big money are the best realy.

Fk's are good for the price but a bit hard £450ish.

Im not too worried about the ride, 450 seems quite a lot but I suppose they are all this kind of price..

Rule out FK's unless you want it to just look pretty.

H&R rear springs are too short, and the leda's don't get the best review either.

Spk to Yozzasport about Bilsteins.

Or better stll, keep your current set up.

But there better than most of the othr stuff IMO if I people are going to spent/waste there money might as well get best of the worst. After all Renault must have done such a bad job themselves so any cheap spring kit is better.

I disagree Edde, i had the High sports on my 1.2 - OOUCH! Still recovering

And the konigsports on the 172 and they were impossible to set up. Sure ok on track, but utterly useless on the road. Jumped into alan's old 182 and it was miles nicer to drive!

If you are goin down this road...don't skimp. I just got a new kit developed for the vee and you don't want to know what that cost!

i'm in the same situation and i think im going to go for the fk konigsports. Would like h&r but its too much. you can adjust the dampers aswell on konigsports which is a plus compared to highsports.

FK's are shite... utter utter shite. Totally useless on the road and not even that good on track, standard is MUCH better. Just get some lowering springs or shell out over 1k on a decent setup. Also bear in mind while FK's may cost 'X' amount you'll also then need to spend several hundred having them setup... even then they are garbage on the road, but if you dont plan on driving the car hard and just want it to look pretty fair play...

Jesus - Bilsteins/H&R's or KW Variant twos are all good options sub £1000 - KW V2's were what Ians car was on at Spa.

Any Coilovers you get Danni - you will need to spend about £250 having them set up.

The best Non-Coilover set-up is Koni Dampers (Adjustable & Eibach Sportline Springs)

Not tried Bilstein or H&R but have FK silverlines on mine that cost over £200 to be setup etc and I think they are utter wankage to be honest. My stock Williams was much much better through the bends... probably not on track, but dont think it would be far off really. Having driven a well setup car on expensive coilovers I can now see why some are so expensive, the difference is literally worlds apart. A decent setup drives on normal roads and track equally well with no compromise, FK's just dont and on track dont wow you like some kits. Even the Leda's are worlds apart and I dont rate them as being that good, as again, great on a track, but not amazing on the road imo.

This info has given me some thought in what I may get.. I dont want to spend more than £500 so im probably going to be looking at the FK's.. This has led me to think I should just get 60mm springs?
