What are the most affordable coilovers that offer a big drop? ideally i'd want a 60-70mm drop on my 172, but dont know what drawbacks this brings. Will it need the arches rolling? will the exhaust scrape over every single speed bump? will I ever be able to have people in the back? lol.

Vmaxx i think everyone is going for at the moment for price reasons. all of the tings you are asking depend on how extreme you take it although i took mine down over 70mm and could still have 2 in the back. no scrubbing and no need for arch rolling.

Get V-maxx or some second hand ones.

Mines lowered about 50mm all round on H&R's, and i can get over most speed bumps in old multi-storeys without any probs, and i've kept all the arch liners in one piece.
