coils on V6

I understand that the coils on the 2001 model V6 are prone to failure. Im gonna be doing a few miles in the next 4 weeks & am worried about this. Any suggestiosn on how i can get them checked? Ive seen a thread about this somewhere, so some of you might be repeating yourselves (sorry).

I understand that the coils cost about £50 each, the 3 are easy to fit, & 3 are a nightmare. Any advice would be great. The Car is under warranty but i guess the part has got to fail before i can get it done through a dealer.

Coils are notoriously poor. Weak spark and prone to failure. R Sport can supply Coils from Trophy race cars which are much better but cost the same. Need different connections too though. Have them on mine with NGK plugs, as does Mike T on his supercharged V6, and would advise you consider this if you can afford it rather than replacing individual existing ones as they go down. I changed only one before upgrading but I do run nitrous as well so need a decent spark.

Thanks, where can i get the email address/tel no of R sport? I want to get a reliable set up. What are the recommended plugs?.

Cheers
