Cold air in engine bay..

Hey guys, just an observation...

I've removed the CAF from the side of the airbox with an ITG panel and the car feels much more responsive than it ever has. Now i know some of you will say "but your sucking in hot air", "You'll get heatsoak etc" but have any of you actually felt how cold the air is around the battery and airbox cause after a hard drive the air in that part of the bay was still very cold...

Havent bothered with removing acoustic valve or putting a bigger CAF in but just wandering if anyone has done the same as myself

The maxogen that gets rave reviews on here draws its air from the part infront of the battery so i can't see it being a problem. Mine is set up the same although i have a small length of silicon tubing from the airbox to the space you are talking about

I have both air ducts in place and after a good drive the airbox and inlet plenum are both very cool.

I have, and like you, did notice a change, if a put the caf in place again I notice that car a bit slugish low down. I have been this since bought it:) plus it sounds nice, not loud but nice

Not quite sure what you mean Neil ? both pointing to the battery/airbox area?

Stock setup mate, airbox has two ducts, a short one open which picks up cool air coming in from the grille area and the longer one with the acoustic valve fitted.

Always very cool after a run so decided to leave in place

hmmm, might have to give this a go...I've already got shot of the acustic valve....maybe removing the whole caf is the way to go...

Silly question but was it hard to remove?

Grab it, and pull it hard. Pops out.

I'm sure people will say fiddle pushing bits in but theres no need they usually just pop out cause they're not that tight.
