Cold misfire from 3k up???

Got in my sport cup thismorning to go to work, the first ten mins it wouldn't rev over 3k in gear starts to miss, but revs fine if you dip clutch. It runs fine when up to temp, had a full service in April at nwp, any1 have any ideas?

I was under the impression these cars have some sort of rev protection when cold but I thort it was a little higher than 3k thought.

Question is, why would you want to give a cold engine some stick?

I don't rag it from cold but I'd say anything below 4k is reasonable on a summers morning, still, it. Shouldn't do it shoulld it?
