Colour coding plastic strips!

Im planning on colourcoding the plastic door strips on the out side of my clio tomorrow. there like a horrible black plastic.i would like them to be glossy and shiny like the paintwork :)if you could give me some instructions on how to do it and what paint i need (probably get it from halfords) that would be very helpful!thanks people

If the strips have like a bobble affect on it you will need to

1. have a 400 grade wet and dry to rough the surface up a bit
2. wipe down with wipes
3. prime with ever white or grey depending on colour of car ie black use grey
4. use high grade wet and dry 1200 to take lumps out of primer
5. leave to dry
6. spay light coat of car colour
7. wait 10 mins to dry then another light coat
8. do 3-4 light coats
9. leave to dry
10. lacquer with light coats again need to get this bit right

thats very basic all in the prep and the last bit really

il enquire! how do i remove the plastic strips do i have to take the door card off?... any more advice on the painting>?
