following this guide

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82693

am on this part

PREPARE TO FLASH

On Windows, open a Command Prompt with Administrator permissions (with UAC,
right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator). On
Linux, open a root shell (sudo -i/su). Change to the directory containing the firmware
images you downloaded.

On Windows, run set
PATH="C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher;%PATH%"
in order to add Flasher to
the system path.

but its not working, help?

Is 'flasher' the program you have downloaded? It isn't a built in windows application so it will not recognise it.

Try switching to the directory of the folder that 'flasher' is in. (the set command should do this but hasn't worked)

Try

Code:
SET PATH=%PATH%;c:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher

Also make sure that folder exists

am using w7 64bit

ive installed the flasher program yes

flasher is currently in a folder on the desktop, ill move it

  mk1 Octavia VRS
Try this:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher\flasher.exe" -i
Not on a Windows PC at the moment but I think that should work.

sorry to be a pain, this is really taxing my brain!!

the next part, ive moved the files into the same folder as the flasher. what command line do I use?

Note that you should replace main.bin and emmc.bin in the commands with the actual names of the
image files you are flashing.

Replace operating system (preserves user
data)

The following command will replace your phone's operating
system with the supplied firmware image. All applications will be removed, but
music/documents/maps/etc. will be kept. This is equivalent to updating/restoring
your phone using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) utility.

Code:
flasher -f -F main.bin

file names are-

DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.13-7.UKIRELAND_EMMC_UKIRELAND.bin

DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin

Right ignore what 172 tom put above, you need to set the directory to make things easier. either use set or cd. I've gave examples of both above!

Then

Code:
[COLOR=#333333]flasher -f -F [/COLOR][COLOR=#333333]DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin[/COLOR][COLOR=#333333]
[/COLOR]
