Components - £100

im still after my components, and ive jus been in Halfords for a bit of a listen to some speakers (i know, not the best place, but where else can i go at 3:30 on a Sunday)

All prices, online prices

Alpine Type E - £40 - Wont be buying these, seemed to be missing quite a lot of frequency range, with notes/beats etc i could hear on other speakers not even being present at all with these

Pioneer TSA131C- £56 - Better than the Alpines, by quite a bit, but still lacking IMO

Alpine Type S - Coax Not Comp - Very harsh sounding tweeter, wont be buying any of that......

Infinity CS - £90 - Best of the lot, precise but not harsh treble, but still with a decent amount of bass.....

The Infinitys have actually restored my faith in components of this price range, didnt think i would be able to get a good set for this kind of money !

also look at the focal access range at halfords, they are around £100 i think

Im going for the alpine x-type ciomponents, yes i know, top of teh ange, about £250

i wouldnt, based on the Alpine speakers ive heard, you can get a lot better for the money, unless that is your talking about the 2003 Type-X......the dark blue ones

there is a new Type-X for 2004

yea thats the ones i listened to the other day, you should find the tweeter is very accurate and crisp without being harsh, on the set i listened to though the speakers seemed very seperated and didnt seem to be working in harmony with each other, seemed each was doin its own thing

i know that components do do there own thing in a way, but id still want the speakers to sound like there working together to produce an overall sound
