Compression Test Question?

Car  R5 GTT EFI Clio.
My Clio seems to be burning oil, the oil ran low all of a sudden, and its caused some damage, were not sure if its a piston ring thats seized, or wether the valve stem oil seals are ruined, but tomorrow my father is bringing home a compression test. Could someone tell me what psi each cylinder should have on a 1.2 8V 2002 clio?

Cheers.

cant really give you an exact figure, but looking for variances across the four cylinders will definitely help you, and use your compression ratio to get a rough idea what pressure it should be reading

Last 1.2 16v i tested made 210psi. Didn't believe it, tried 3 different testers, but it really was. Think that was unusually high though

Look for variance between cylinders more than absolute figures to start with, if there's an issue it's lilely to be on 1 or 2 cylinders rather than all

Thanks Dan, As i said, we thought it was the rings, but either way were going to take the head off to inspect and find out, so soon find out, nothings slapping (as if rings were gone) so think its the stem oil seals, soon find out next week, but comp test tomorrow i think, depends when my old man can get hold of his mate who borrowed it from us.

Try a leak down test if possible as well, that should also give you a good indication of your engines health :)
