Connecting Laptop to TV

Just bought a new samsung LCD tv today and im trying to connect the laptop to it to see how it looks but im having problems.

I've connected the S-video cable from the laptop to the tv and changed the tv channel to PC input but theres no signal??

Anyone know why i cant get it working?

it'll be one of the other inputs on the telly e.g av3 etc

pc-input will be when you use a vga cable.

does the laptop not have a vga out? s-video looks s**te tbh. (speaking from experience)!

nope cant find it on AV, i think its an svideo cable anyway its an 11 pin plug.

Most probably there is a function command for this. Usually Fn+<the key with LCD/a monitor on it> (F5, F6, F7 F8?)

It depends what outputs your laptop has and what inputs your TV has?
