crap renaults again

  Disco 5 ,Monaro VXR

driving to work tday exactly a year to the day i got my 182 and the engine managment light came on. So took car to renault on the way home, not only is he engine fcukd but two of the shocks on it are leaking to so after just one year the car needs about 600 quids worth of work done to it and guess what the shocks are not covered on the warranty. sorry for the long post im just really annoyed that the build quaility is so poor on renauts these days.

i tried that all i got was some guy telling me havent you heard of wear and tear and that the shocks are not covered at all. to be honest though the deal has offered to take 25% off the shocks cos my they cant find out what is causing the prob with the engine and they will have to keep the car for a few days. The dealer even payed for a taxi to take me home cos of the way the guy in c.s spoke to me as i had him on speakerphone in the dealers office and he heard the whole thing

your lucky to have had it a year and only need £600 worth, i had mine 3 months and it had £1600 worth of warranty work, including new exhaust, and engine top end rebuild

but did you have to pay for the work yourself though??

my dads best mate has his own garage so i think ill get hi to sort the shocks out and save a bit that way. so it looks as though ill have to pay about £200 quid myself. so whats the point in getting the servicing done at renault if they dont cover anything.

Poor shocks on 172/182 are a common problem. It isnt down to wear and tear ... its down to poor shocks and Renault know that! You need to argue this further with them ...

no, it was shock failure, defective component, they tried the wear and tear thing tho

i spoke to about 5 diffferent people in renault c.s and they all said the same because of the miles the car has done it isnt covered even though the dealer has had four 05 182s back in for new front shocks since april. the guy on the phone said to get the dealer to ring them which he did but they were just has rude and unhelpfull to him as well.
