best way to gain experience quickly is to do either a track day or driving experience day.

im only 19 and done 4 track days so far. Each one has taught me different things about car control and what to do if things dont go wrong lol. In my second track day i spun off at Croft at 90mph backwards, i did everything wrong in my efforts to try and correct it but now i know what to do if it steps out.

Dont get me wrong im still a s**t and unexperienced driver (only been driving 2 years) but every little helps.

but unlucky mate and im glad nobody was hurt. Live and learn :)

Unlucky fella, at least nobody was hurt. Generally speaking, it's a bad idea to step on the brakes on a corner, especially at 40-50mph in the wet!

Bad luck mate. I know you're still quite young and havent got the experience but time will come when you will learn to read the road conditions and how they change with the weather. Dont try and brake hard going into a corner, all you will do is unbalance the car and throw it off line. Get all the braking done while the car is approaching the corner and get yourself set up in the correct gear to power the car through the corner safely. If you feel the car start to slide lift your feet off the pedals and let the engine help to brake your speed . Try and opposite lock the steering to correct the slide if the rear steps out.
As someone else suggested, try and get some time on a track with an instructor who will show you exactly what to do to make your driving smoother and safer as well as how to drive fast safely. Its all about having a feel for what the car is telling you and keeping everything smooth and balanced.
Renault Clio's are a superb handling car with decent tyres and a good suspension set up.
Unfortunately, carrying a sub woofer in the boot will make the rear end a fair bit heavier and will act a bit like a pendulum, encouraging the tail to step out if driven too hard into a bend.

i was doing between 40 and 50 and the road was wide were the bend was and it wasnt a sharp bend was a open long bend
