im sure you can get one of the mobile dent specialists to come and have a look at it to assess the damage.

thx for your help, any recomendations on companies, i have tried chipsaway and im waitnig for them to get back to me

Where are you based? The same happened to me, it put a dent in the door, some bloke managed to get it out, and now you cant tell.

hi, im based in mansfield, near nottinghamshire, was your crease on the edge of the door ??.

my friend managed to get a bit of the crease out but it just needs that last little bit to make it perfect.

what was the company you used adamcmoran

A one man band in Stockport, he poked it out by putting a thing in between the door, then knocked it a bit, it came out really well. The crease was to the left of the door handle (on the passenger side).

if anyone does know someone around the nottinghamshire area let me know

thx

nasty, do you have a pic ?, you can try banging it back out like said above, but best gettin them to quote you for doing it

Sounds like an insurance job to me, especially if the paint is broken? Youd need to get it repaired at a renualt dealer I would have thought, or the anti-corrosion warranty would be void? Im just guessing though really.

Bummer bad news though. It happened to me years ago in an older car, and ever since I always hang onto that door tight when opening it!

hi guys, thx for the help, the exterior paint is unbroken, the only paint damage is on the edge were the wall scratched it off, totally gutted , i feel sick, i really hope they can sort it

hi again, just to let you know my latest horror story, yesterday the chipsaway man came (mike beard, in case you ever get him), he said he may be able to do it, and it would be £45,i said i was worried about him damaging the paint, he said it would be fine, so i go into house to get him a coffee, i then take him coffee out and he says hurridly that he cant do it and he has to go ???, he then tries to rush off, i take a quick look at the door and he had scratched all the inner side of my door frame !!!!!!!!, i was so pissed of, i told him about it and he said oh sorry i didnt notice that, guess i will have to fix that now !!!

so 1 hour later he has resprayed my inner door frame, which looks a mess now and is alread chipping off :(, and there is overspray all over my side of my back panel too on the exterior ??!!!.

so now i got a crease in my door and a crap paint job on my frame too, can i complain to chipsaway ??, are they not franchises, i do not want the bloke back

Chips Away either seem to *sometimes* do a good job but more often or not make more of a messs than was there before.

Wanted two small scratches painted on a previous metallic blue car, left the car with him went to pick it up later that day. He had ended up painting half the rood and tailgate with an airbrush to remove them. The paint finish was crap and so was the match. Guy said he had had problemsknew it looked poor, but it was ok it would wipe off, as the use weird paint. Wipes it off, says he wont charge me for the paint or the dent the dents guy had to take out. Under the paint was some dodgy filler and loads sanding marks which looked worse than origional scratches. Now probs he says that will polish out, so he gets out his machine and goes through the laquer!

Hope you get it sorted. Get some clay and remove the overspray and and get a good bodyshop to sort the paint.

thx, yeh my husband has removed all his paint about 8 inch round ???, for 3 3mm marks ??, and underneath the paint he has sanded back to the metal in about a 4 inch strip:eek:, it looks awfull now, im so sad

the moral of the story is never ever use chipsaway

Bloody hell pants - thats a right pisser.

No one should have that done to their car. He should have had the ability to judge the job before he even started.

Ive used Chips Away in the past and to be honest, the guy did a briliiant job. I suppose its a proper hit & miss affair - not that that really helps you in this situation.

told people on here before not to use any mobie company tp do blow ins etc. only use them to get dents out.

They all bodge, thats why its so cheap to fix.

Get a picture up of the damage.

From readin what youve said it sounds like the door edge needs to be hammered and dollied out to shape then fillered n sprayed. Youll be painting the rear quarter, door and inner door. Door will have to be stripped completely.

Its an insurance job either way.

agreed never use chips away for anything apart from alloy kerbing. Anything on the body of the car needs to go into a professional spray shop
