crunching into 2nd at speed/beating syncro? 172 cup common ?

hi,i have a 172 cup,i noticed when i got the car (only once) when accelerating hard in 1st and going for second there was a slight crunch into 2nd,i thought it was just beating the syncro.i have recently re-mapped my car with an rs tuner to group n and on doing the same accelerating hard in first then to second the crunching has become more noticable(i dont make a habit of doing this),is this normal/common on the 172,or are my 2nd gear syncro,s worn? every other gear is fine no probs with them,i know the early volvo s40/440 used the same gearbox,possibly different ratios im guessing (was a volvo tec for 6 years too long)and when doing the same in them they did crunch now and then but not as severe.replys appreciated p.s i have flushed the box oil twice.

They will no take fast/hard/abusing changes unfortunately, they're fine if treated correctly.

a hate the gearbox in the clio when ur tryin to shift quickly time for a short shifter i think
