Is there going to be one folks?
Such a shame as it was really local for me, didn’t work out last year for me to attend but I’m aiming to make it this year whatever the plan is.We are looking at the possibility of some sort of event for this year, but nothing has been arranged at the moment.
I can however confirm that we will sadly not be returning to Blyton Park as a club. It's been kept quiet up to now but there will be questions as to why so I'm going to just vent a little bit to explain. 😂
As you know we have been going to Blyton for a number years and had a great relationship with the old site managers who left just before the pandemic.
Unfortunately this years show was somewhat overshadowed by how our event team, and some of you guys as customers were treated by several members of the Blyton staff. We spent the weekend trying to be polite and respectful to an unwelcoming, prejudicial and downright rude site manager, who had clearly decided before we arrived that we were going to be trouble makers, to quote "because we are a Clio club". This is partially the fault of the poor behaviour of another Clio group several years ago who will remain nameless but it doesn't take a genius. We have been running the same professional event year after year, with consistently well behaved members so this should not have been applied to us before we even arrived this year. The site manager was seen shouting rudely at some of you for apparently not understanding their misleading signage and we had numerous complaints.
We also had (not for the first time) many reports of rude treatment by the staff in the onsite cafe. We then experienced this first hand ourselves when the event team dared to ask to purchase some food to be ready whenever it was available. We ended up sending someone to Tesco for our lunch.... Sadly years of management understaffing the cafe for our event has lead to the overworked staff being rude too many times. They are always aware of the numbers and demand they can expect, so there is no excuse.
To top it all off, we returned exhausted from the weekend to an email from the new site management (who couldn't be bothered to attend to introduce themselves, and only have the word of their staff to go by) telling us that we disrespected their staff, were rude to the cafe staff, and left the site looking like a huge rubbish bin. We always clear up and generally leave the site cleaner than it was when we arrived. Fortunately we took photos and here is how we left the site:

We responded with our side of the story and these photos and while they agreed to put this to their staff members there was never an apology or retraction.
Sadly this means we aren't prepared to return, so will be looking for an alternative venue for future club events. Suggestions are more than welcome!
To be fair to the cafe, they had decent quantities of ketchup at csf22.We are looking at the possibility of some sort of event for this year, but nothing has been arranged at the moment.

You really can't ask for more.
They were rude, but when I was chatting to them I think they were just as pissed with the management as they were with us.Not sure if ketchup or the blood of missing track drivers who dared to ask the lady for a baguette......

It’s Not far for me Mate 😉…get those dealing boots on and get a deal going! 😉I’m at Castle Combe next month and I get on very well with some bloke that works there. I don’t even have to sign on or do the safety briefing, he just ticks the boxes for me! Lol)
I’ll speak to him as they are more than set up for the event and I know they’d have us. It’s just money depending because it’s b*****d expensive…
I also appreciate it’s a prick to get to for 90% of the club members.
I’m the same mate, I’ll go anywhere for a weekend of cars, anal sex and beer with you lot.Honestly I don't care where it is - could be Anglesey and I'd still make the effort to come - I had such a good time last year and the thought of driving for many many hours for another weekend like that doesn't put me off in the slightest.
Castle Combe would be incredibly convenient though 😂
My car would defo end up on the back of a lorry there...Nurburgring. Job done.
What a shame, I did think Blyton was pretty perfect, staff issues aside. I can't be alone in thinking I'd rather have CSF23 at Blyton again and deal with some staff issues than not have a CSF23 at all!
Is it a possibility to go back to the management, explain the grievances with last year and see if they're willing to work to improve things? Surely they don't want to lose our business over what seem to be relatively easy fixes.
Like the Vauxhall owner club, that would be a fun day watching them understeer round everything on fireAre there any other clubs that have track days? Perhaps we could team up somewhere to reduce costs? Be mutually beneficial. Does anyone have any contacts? Must be similar sized owners clubs facing similar challenges. It would be a real shame if there wasn’t a face to face ‘meet’
Let's team up with CSOCAre there any other clubs that have track days? Perhaps we could team up somewhere to reduce costs? Be mutually beneficial. Does anyone have any contacts? Ah ok, I always get confused here…there are two owners clubs? Well there is this one which is a proper club and another which is a FB page. Presuming the later is the one that’s caused all the problems??? Seem to remember there being a banner out for that one last year… but I can’t remember.Let's team up with CSOC
