Cullen's new track toy

Getting the fluid changed and the new lines on is all good stuff but the cut in that other part, how could someone leave it like that seriously 🙈

i know mate, im glad i found it doing the brake overhaul as it wouldnt of lasted this years trackdays
i believe the car was looked after with a few choice mods and then passed to a plonka who abused it at some point.

i havent mentioned it in the thread but i did gearbox oil and engine oil and they were both jet black.

its now finally back to good car again, apart from the engine its all been overhauled. looking forward to a year of good trackdays.

As above. Previous owner of my car decided it was a good idea to also install the spacer backwards on one side and torque the nut to pissing eleventy[emoji849] The other side didn’t even have one[emoji19]

Surprised the disc even went round without a spacer, worrying to think that people think doing this stuff is acceptable

Update 6

T-minus 1 week to spa :)

After all the work thats been done to the clio it was time for an alignment and some camber.

I phoned up northampton motorsport on tuesday and got myself and my mates mk2 golf 20vt booked in for setup this saturday.

First things first this morning i came out the door to see him head first in his bonnet,
only to find he hadnt fully tightened a boost hose after a turbo rebuild :)

Shortly after a tweek with a 13mm socket we were on our way.

We arrived at northampton motorsport just before 8.30. (obligatory pic)

When the lads turned up we had a good chat, told them the score with the cars and they invited us into the workshop while the work was carried out,
as usual with northampton motorsport they didnt disappoint on there selection of cars.

Enough of the car p**n

we got mine on the ramp first as we discovered the mk2 needed a new top mount, which northampton motorsport ordered there and then and fitted (top blokes)

The camber shims i had discovered installed on the car the other night were negative 3 degrees camber slightly more than i expected.

I had wanted to run -2 to -2 1/4 on the front but due to the rear im now running -3 all round.

Mk2 on the alignment

IMG_3627.JPG

And the graph, the rear passenger is out but we think this is due to the stub axle that has been tampered with,
that will be changed out this week as i received the new ones. thanks @H2MRK

Happy with the results now the car drives straight

Probably wont be an update till im back from the mecca next thursday

I still can’t make my mind up whether that sausage in a bun looks over complicated and shite or whether it looks nice to eat[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Due to rust issue and the rear subframe pulling itself through the floor I decided to break it for parts and scrap the shell

I started the engine bay up aswell with a few rattle cans as I like my track cars looking smart

20200518_190021.jpg

Also put some air holes in the front as I like the look more than it being useful
Ive also cut in a proper cold air feed duct to the air filted just next to the tow hook, tempory until I do a battery relocation and an enclosed filter.

20200524_172351.jpg

Also rebuilt both front calipers and gave them a lick of paint the setup is now
brembo hc discs
Hel braided lines
Motul 660 fluid
Mintex F2R pads front
PBS pads rear with standard discs

20200425_122616.jpg

I also started up all badges and door bullets silver to make it look fresher.

Did a trackday at snett last week and this is the new setup minus the van as it's a mates

20200610_060049.jpg

Now for the biggest changes the wheels and slicks I bought last week
15x7 et25
Dunlop slicks
New seat and new steering wheel aswell
