Cup 172 Cooling/Overcooling

  2016 Audi RS3
Right guys, since the weather has turned cold my Cup has started to run a little colder. Should the car be getting up to temp regardless of the ambient temperature? Obviously I am worried about the temperature of my oil and its' ability to protect my engine.

It is running basically a bar cooler than it was previously. It DOES get up to the normal bar when I sit in traffic for a period of time.

Is my stat stuck open?

dont forget that having the heater blower on will lower the running temperature a fair bit wether its hot or cold outside.

Yeah obviously that is a factor. But on a steady run @ 50-60 with the blower off the temperature sits on the 'currently' mark on the picture above. At 70+ the temperature rises slightly but still not to the normal mark.

As long as this is acceptable then I am happy. Coming from a Renault 5 GT Turbo daily driver it is quite hard to adjust to the car not being boiling all the time.

Its fine so long as it isn't going up and down on its own for no reason. In the cold weather with the heathers on its bound to run colder.

As mentioned above its normal, its 1.2 8v's that struggle in this weather to reach any decent temp.
